Toyota names 2024 DOTY

TOYOTA has honoured its national dealers at an event celebrating the best performers for 2024, awarding Metropolitan Australian Dealer of the Year to Newcastle Toyota for the second year running, while Adelaide Hills Toyota in Mt Barker was named Rural Australian Dealer of the Year.

Also honoured were 14 recipients of the 2024 President’s Award for Excellence, which represents the highest achievement in all aspects of dealer performance. The majority of dealerships receiving a President’s Award also won regional DOTY awards.

Newcastle Toyota’s award was accepted by Australian Motor Group (AMG) founder and owner Mark Fitzgerald.

Together, Newcastle and Castle Hill Toyota (both owned by AMG) employ 180 staff, with three Newcastle team members collectively tenured for 108 years.

Newcastle Toyota achieved an outstanding 95.9 per cent customer satisfaction score, and beyond the showroom, is committed to its local community.

The team regularly volunteers at Delhuntie Youth Camp, supports Nova for Women & Children and has participated in National Tree Day with Newcastle City Council over the past seven years.

Adelaide Hills Toyota in Mt Barker is led by dealer principal Tom Gilbert, a fifth-generation member of the family business which is known for its exceptional staff loyalty with many members having spent their entire career with the business.

Mr Gilbert is an active member of the Business Mt Barker group which works with local business leaders and government, while Adelaide Hills Toyota proudly sponsors several local sporting clubs and volunteers at Warrawong Sanctuary.

Each recipient of the President’s Award met five mandatory criteria across sales, operational standards, profitability, facilities and service.

In addition, they achieved at least four of the five eligibility criteria spanning business management, finance and insurance, sales, used vehicles, and sales repurchase performance.

The 14 awardees comprise the top ten regional Dealers of the Year from across Australia’s states, alongside four additional dealerships selected based on eligibility compliance and overall Departmental Excellence Award achievements.
