GR Yaris fitted with the GTS Aero Performance Package

TOYOTA has announced details of a lairy-looking range-topper for the GR Yaris hot hatch line-up, the GTS Aero Performance Package due in local showrooms later this year priced from $64,990 plus onroad costs. 

Comprising a motorsports-derived aero kit, the upgrades lend the sporty GR Yaris GTS a more dynamic look and feel courtesy of a larger cooling duct and grille on the bonnet, a manually adjustable rear spoiler, new frontal lip spoiler, front fender ducts, rear bumper ducts, and a new underfloor cover.

The aerodynamic enhancements work to add downforce and stability to the GR Yaris GTS at higher speeds while increasing airflow for driveline cooling.

Available exclusively on the GTS grade, the Aero Performance Package is paired with the model’s Torsen limited-slip differential, highperformance suspension, red-painted brake callipers, and 18-inch forged alloy wheels to offer what might be called the ultimate road-going Yaris. Premium paint remains a $575 option.

As per the donor vehicle, the GR Yaris GTS Aero Performance Package is powered by Toyota’s acclaimed G16E-GTS turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque. 

Like the remainder of the range it is available with a choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions driving all four wheels via an adjustable full-time allwheel-drive system with selectable AWD modes.
